Fire alarms are normally activated automatically by initiating devices such as smoke/heat detectors and manual pull stations. Systems also include notification devices such as ceiling or wall mounted strobes, horn-strobes and speaker strobes to sound an alarm followed by a voice evacuation message. Optionally, fire alarm systems come with remote annunciators for viewing alarm history, and silencing of alarms, giving facility managers and first responders the ability to control these activities from locations throughout the facility. Fire alarm systems can be integrated with mass notification systems to provide group specific alerts, notifications and instructions to staff and employees, on-site or off, by public address, telephone, cellular, email, text and private radio systems.
